Man removed from house

Benjamin Thornbury (26), Festival Road, Portadown, was fined £150 last Friday at Craigavon Court for disorderly behaviour on March 26 this year.

He was also fined £150 for resisting police and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The court heard police were sent to Oakwood Place in Portadown where a female wanted a drunken male removed from the house. Thornbury had arrived at the house drunk and fell asleep on the sofa.

When police tried to rouse him he began to shout loudly telling them to ‘f—k off’ and ‘get the f—k away from me’.

Police felt there was some risk to the female and there were two children in the property.

A barrister said his client had been out that night because it was the anniversary of the death of a close friend and he had taken too much alcohol.

He said the defendant had reacted inappropriately in the circumstances. The barrister added the couple had since married and Elliot now had responsibilities.
