Forget about '˜We're not Brazil' or '˜Sweet Norn Iron', there's a new fan song which has just been released in time for Euro 2016.

Lurgan’s very own comedy Boyband Moss Road are giving supporters of Our Wee Country another song to sing at home and in France as Michael O’Neill’s men attempt to do the unthinkable and reach the knock-out stages of the competition. And the name of the song, well it couldn’t be more appropriate - Dare to Dream!

Mark Knox, one half of the duo explained how it all came about. “It all started because Ross (McConnell) is going with a team of 30 young people from Emmanuel Church, to Uganda in the summer. They needed interesting ways to raise funds and so we decided to come up with the idea of a comedy boyband.

“We started about four months ago and made a couple of videos and selling CDs. The first video got 5,000 views on Facebook and the second one which was about the Irish Cup because we are massive Glenavon fans had 2,000 views.

“We then decided to do one about the Euros because again we are huge Northern Ireland supporters and already in the space of four days we have had over 60,000 views which is amazing.”

With Ross writing and singing the chorus and Mark writing and delivering the raps, the duo are hoping Dare to Dream will become a hit with the supporters. Already Mark has recruited some young fans: “I’m a substitute teacher and at the moment I’m in King’s Park PS, Lurgan and I have been playing it to the kids everyday. We’ve been having a Euro 2016 tournament and they’ve all be singing away at it. Hopefully the fans in France will enjoy it as much.

“We are hoping to raise a few hundred pounds from the track which can be downloaded at www.mossroad.bandcamp.com all we ask is a minimum donation of £1.”
