Kimberly Graham was struck with depression following the birth of her youngest child two and half years ago.

The young mum-of-two, who owns Precision Semi-Permanent Makeup in Edward Street, said, “I was in a difficult place after having my daughter and following a career in graphic design, marketing and customer services, I was put on long term sick leave with a diagnosis of post-natal depression.

“As a young woman in my 20s I found it very hard to see how I could manage life with the demands of two young children and a job and I just couldn’t see a way forward. The road to recovery was difficult and it was a long process which involved a lot of support from my husband, family and friends.

“In brighter moments I was able to evaluate my life and the pressures I was under and while chatting with my husband we both came to the conclusion that opening my own business could be what would work best for me.”

She added, “While researching possibilities I came across semi-permanent makeup and realised that, with my artistic flair and steady hand, this could be an excellent career choice for me. I contacted my local Jobs and Benefits Office which put me in touch with The Prince’s Trust and they were an immense help.”

Kimberly offers semi-permanent make up for brows and lips, which can offer a natural look, as well as Meso Therapy, a rejuvenating treatment for wrinkles, fine lines, dehydration and sagging.

She hopes that her journey from illness to business success can inspire other people to overcome difficulties in the quest to find a work-life balance.

Meanwhile, the Prince’s Trust has recently created a Mentor Hub in Portadown, providing a range of mentors who support young people.
