The brainchild of the Greater Victoria Street Residents Association, the park has been inspired by the people who live in the area.

With a lot of hard work, local people pulled together and created an amazing space for the entire community.

Exceptional artwork by local artist Stephen Fagan brings colour and vibrancy to the park.

And raised beds are blooming with flowers and plants.

There are vegetable beds, fruit trees and roses - a truly amazing sensory experience.

A representative of the Great Victoria Street Residents Committee said: “Many people gave up their spare time during the day to create the garden. It helps people get involved in the local community and it is very therapeutic.”

The Association has been helped by Armagh Banbridge and Craigavon Council to source funding to help create the garden.

The official opening will be held 11am on Friday.

The land at Lord Lurgan Memorial Park was originally owned by the Brownlow family but was given over to the townfolk of Lurgan in 1908. The Park still retains its picturesque beech lined avenue.
