Portadown firm Thompson Travel International has won £10,000 worth of business consultancy in the Dragon’s Den style competition.
Sharon Fleming, director of Thompson Travel in Portadown, Northern Ireland beat off tough competition from other finalists in Wales and England. Thompson Travel has been an Advantage member for over a year and wins £10,000 worth of consultancy from Elman Wall, Lingua Communications, The Travel Trade Consultancy and Advantage.
David Moon, head of business development at Advantage and one of the judges, said that it was a difficult decision for the judges. In the end the judges selected Sharon as within her business she has some unique opportunities and she displayed a real willingness to move her business forward.
The judges will now work with Sharon to devise an action plan to develop her business.
The judges were professionals including Jonathan Wall of Elman Wall; Karen Ramirez of Lingua Communications (Karen is one of the Women 1st Top 100 Most Influential Women in Hospitality, Leisure, Travel & Tourism, as well as winning the Association of Women Travel Executives (AWTE) Business Impact Award.) ; Matt Purser of The Travel Trade Consultancy; and David Moon, Head of business development at Advantage Travel Centres.
