Pro cannabis candidate has hopes of election extinguished

CISTA candidate in Upper Bann Martin Kelly has been eliminated from the NI Assembly elections as the count finally closes for the night.

The pro cannabis party candidate was officially eliminated at 11.30pm tonight.

The electoral officer has suspended the Upper Bann count until 9am tomorrow morning.

Just two candidates have been elected so far, both from the DUP Carla Lockhart and Sydney Anderson.

Transfer votes are becoming an increasing concern for those remaining candidates who hope to be elected to Stormont.
