Principal of City of Armagh High School Andrew Turkington has congratulated the GCSE students on an “excellent” set of results.
Mr Turkington said that while the overall GCSE picture was encouraging, some excellent individual student performances were worthy of mention.
They were Alice Brown, Urszula Gesikowska, Ryan Halligan, Laura Henderson and Amy Wortley.
He also acknowledged the importance of the contribution made by parents and teaching staff.
Said Mr Turkington, “We take great pleasure in seeing young people being rewarded for all their hard work and share in their success.
“We believe that we are a genuine community school here in Armagh which caters for students of all abilities, which sees young people as individuals and which works successfully to develop talents and abilities in all of our students.
“We are delighted with their achievements at GCSE level and wish each of them continued success as they continue with their education or move into the world of work.
“Academic success can only be achieved through the co-operation of pupils, parents and teachers with all having an important role to play. We are delighted with our results which can only be seen as an excellent achievement for a school of our type.”
He added, “While most of the focus may be on those receiving top grades we must also recognise the contribution of all of our pupils whose grades are just as important and significant.
“They too can be very proud of their progress and achievements.”
