Stopped while riding moped

For riding a moped in Lurgan without having insurance a 32-year-old man was banned from the roads for four months last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court.

Andrzei Darvsz Kobzda, Dill Avenue, Lurgan, was also fined £300.

As well he was fined £100 for not having a driving licence.

Kobzda, who appeared in court by way of videolink from Maghaberry prison, admitted the offences.

The court heard that he was stopped on the Aprilla Moped on the Glenfield Road, Lurgan, and admitted he had no licence or insurance.

His solicitor said he had co-operated fully with police.

District Judge Benita Boyd said the defendant had a relevant record for similar offences.
