When a search was carried out of the home of a Portadown man three different classes of drugs were found.

Forty-five-year-old Stephen Lynas, Drumcarn Gardens, Portadown, was fined £150 last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for possession of a class A drug, MDMA, on December 22 last year.

He was also fined £90 on each of two charges of having a class B drug, methylone and methylethcatinone, and £75 for possession of a class C drug, temazepam.

The court heard a search was carried out at Drumcarn Gardens and items were found in the polythene bag in one of the bedrooms.

Lynas said it was for his own personal use.

A search of the defendant and the house uncovered traces of drugs.

There was 3.05 grams of a class B drug and others were class B and class A. The class C drug was a tablet found in a handbag.

Mr Richard Monteith, representing the defendant, said Lynas was taking responsibility for anything that was found in the house.

He added that the defendant intended taking these items when he was out for a drink.
