Young businesswoman Kristy Simpson has shown how to make Portadown work in the retail sense, with her highly successful boutique ‘Sitara Morgan’ – her latest accessory to that being The Portadown Times!

Known for her high quality shoes, clothing and accessories, Kristy’s thriving West Street business has been going for strength since she opened five years ago.

And since she dressed a mannequin a fortnight ago – using the pages of a couple of issues of the Portadown Times – her iconic image has flourished even more.

Maggie the Mannequin – a svelte Size Eight – has really fired the imagination of the customers. An unusual ‘print’ dress, one might say, headlining a style of her own. Although Maggie doesn’t have a head, as our attractive picture of Kristy and her protégé shows!

A student of style, with a clutch of GCSEs under her belt, Kristy’s main goal was her own fashion boutique, and her know-how has made a real success of it.

“I did a Times special window, with the mannequin the centre-piece and it has been a real winner,” she said. “I suppose it’s a different slant to the idea of advertising with the Times!”

Of course, the Simpsons are no strangers to hitting the headlines in the local press, as Kristy’s dad is none other than David Simpson, MP for Upper Bann and getting ready for the General Election, the deadline being next year.

Right now, though, Kristy’s ‘Times’ display gets the vote of the people!
