Vibrant new planters have been installed throughout Portadown town centre.

Organised by Craigavon Borough Council and funded by The Portadown Revitalisation Project, the planters scheme will see Portadown town centre transform with an injection of colour and greenery complementing the recent regeneration of the town through the public realm works.

Chair of the development committee, Councillor Carla Lockhart believes the new additions are good news for Portadown town centre.

She said, “We are delighted with these exciting new additions to the town centre.

“The visual appeal of the planters add to the new and improved Portadown town centre look which includes excellent shopping, perfect places to eat and a wide range of retailers. Have a look when you’re next in town!”

The Portadown Revitalisation Project initiative is funded by Northern Ireland Executive, through the Department for Social Development, and is being delivered by Craigavon Borough Council in partnership with Portadown Retail Action Group (PRAG) consisting of local retail and business representatives.
