Translink urge public to have say on park and ride

An information session is being held at the station on Wednesday, March 23 between 1.30pm and 7pm where members of the public can drop in to speak to Translink representatives.

Translink project manager Aidan Stott said, “We are in the early planning stages of this project which will require appropriate funding and planning approval. We want the local community to help us shape the plans we submit for planning application in the coming months and are encouraging the public to tell us their views on the project.”

Transport Minister Michelle McIlveen said, “The popularity of park and ride has grown significantly in recent years as more people enjoy the convenience of using public transport. Developments in sites like this are an important part of our plans to offer even better travel options for customers.‎

“A new enhanced park and ride facility would be an additional asset to the wider Portadown and Craigavon community making rail travel even more convenient and accessible. I would encourage everyone to take part in the consultation and, if possible, to go along to the public information day.”

The consultation is open until June 17.
