Woman became aggressive and shouted profanities at police

Arrests

A woman who became aggressive towards police and shouted profanities ‘at the top of her lungs’ was fined £200 last Wednesday at Craigavon Court for disorderly behaviour.

The court heard Rosemary Bernadette Toland (47), Churchill Park, Portadown, became involved when police were dealing with an incident on January 18.

She began shouting and screaming and using foul language at a man in the vicinity. Police told her to calm down but she began to scream in an officer’s face and was shouting profanities at the top of her lungs.

When cautioned by police she said: “Kiss my f—king ass, you’re a f—king joke.”

Mr Conor Downey, representing Toland, said the reason she was so irate was the behaviour of other people and what she thought was the inactivity of officers.

He explained that while others in the vicinity were informing officers what had occurred she was aggrieved that nothing had been done with these other persons.

She apologised to the officers involved. It was 2006 the last time she was in court.
