A SUICIDE awareness programme is being set up in Portadown after another sudden death has shocked the community - this time of a respected education youth officer.
The body of David McCrory was discovered beside Craigavon lakes on Wednesday of last week.
His death has been profoundly felt not only by his family, but also throughout the youth service of the Southern Education Board and in Craigavon Civic Centre where his pregnant wife Louise works in the development department.
A colleague of Mr McCrory, who was in his late 30s, told the Portadown Times, "David's death has come out of the blue. He had such a rapport with young people and was such a wonderful role model and they really looked up to him.
"He was so full of sparkle, and young people from all over the area looked to him for advice and leadership. They are profoundly shocked."
