EASTER is coming early this year so why not help celebrate the arrival of both by coming to Craigavon and enjoying some of the wonderful activities on offer for the whole family.

Craigavon Borough Council is running a fabulous campaign called ‘Full of the Joys of Spring’ enticing locals and tourists alike to experience all the delights the borough has to offer.

The festivities will begin on Easter Saturday, March 30 with a fantastic ‘Spring Made Stylish’ event taking place in both Portadown and Lurgan town centres. Watch professional models strutting their stuff in the stunning fashions offered by the chic boutiques in the towns and look out for the pop up podiums where the models will act as ‘live mannequins’ showcasing the styles available.

The models will also take part in town ‘walkabouts’, chatting to passers-by, giving out spot prizes to fashionable shoppers as well as directing them to fashion retailers who will be running special promotions and offers to help you top up your wardrobe at a discounted price!

A glass sided marquee will feature hair and beauty demonstrations for you to drop in and get a makeover or some tops beauty tips. Meanwhile, U105 Roadshows will be running on the plazas providing music and chat to bring a fun atmosphere to the towns. Johnny Hero will feature in Portadown and Julian Simmons in Lurgan.

And why not take part in the interactive fashion trails around Lurgan and Portadown town centres. Fun for all the family - entry forms can be collected from Johnny Hero and Julian Simmons and completed trails will be entered into a draw for some spectacular spring merchandise from Lurgan and Portadown’s fantastic retailers.

“The ‘Spring Made Stylish’ event promises to bring our towns to life, with fantastic entertainment, spot prizes and discounts to entice shoppers into the centres and appreciate what local shops have to offer,” commented Councillor Darryn Causby, chair of the development committee. “Both Portadown and Lurgan offer a wide variety of both independent and well known brand names offering fashion at its best, as well as perfect places to relax for a coffee or lunch before picking up on the retail trail again. So this Easter Saturday, take advantage of everything on offer in your local town centres and enjoy!”

This will all take place from noon to 3pm so don’t miss out on the fun.
