Four in court on wounding charge

THREE Portadown men and a juvenile have appeared in court charged with wounding a man in the town last year.

They are Jason Morrison, (21), of Moeran Park; Alan Joseph McCreery, (22), of Ballybay Park; Samuel Herron, (22), of Selshion Parade, and a youth, who cannot be named because of his age.

All four are also charged with disorderly behaviour on July 11 last year, at or about West Street-Market Street, Portadown.

Morrison is also charged with possession of an offensive weapon, a bottle and with common assault.

McCreery is also charged with common assault on the same date.

When the charges were read to the men by a court clerk, each replied ‘Not guilty’.

Lawyers for the men indicated that a two-day hearing would be needed for the case.

District Judge Alan White adjourned the case until March 19 to fix a date for the contest. The defendants were remanded on bail.
