Integrated school to get new building

PORTADOWN Integrated Primary School is to receive a new school building following an announcement by Education Minister John O’Dowd on Tuesday.

The Portadown school was on a list of 22 schools to benefit from Mr O’Dowd’s £220m investment.

A new primary school will also be built for the amalgamated schools of St Joseph’s and St James’ in Poyntzpass.

There was also a significant announcement in Lurgan, where a new-build project will encompass the existing schools of St Mary’s, St Paul’s and St Michael’s post-primary schools.

As expected, there was no news about a building for Portadown College, where the new-build project remains firmly on the long finger.
