PORTADOWN photographer Marie Allen has teamed up with make-up artist Charlene Campbell and event planner Rachel Johnston to launch Rokfolio, a new take on portrait photography.

The Rokfolio team work together to create images which are totally unique to each individual, taking clients out of the traditional settings of a photography studio and instead using some of our local landmarks as backdrop for their images.

The team have recently used local locations such as the iconic McConville’s Bar on Mandeville Street, KFC on Bridge Street and the old Taggart’s Garage in Scarva to create some stunning images.

Marie said, “We want to create images which are totally unique to each individual client. Some of our clients are people who have worked hard to lose weight and want to celebrate their achievement with a creative memento. Others just want some images to celebrate a milestone or something different to give to loved ones.

“We work with our clients to make them feel comfortable and give them the model treatment for the day and the results are images which are personal and something which they can treasure forever. We also work with models to produce stand-out images for their portfolio which will help to get them noticed in the highly competitive modelling industry.”

To help launch the new business, the Rokfolio team are running a competition to find the most creative image. Judged by local business owner Mandy Baxter, proprietor of Pollini Fashions in Moira, every shoot booked in 2012 is entered in to the creative image competition.

Most creative image will win a glossy, bound portfolio of the images from their shoot AND an advanced laser teeth whitening treatment for two people worth £130 plus £50 worth of aftercare products from Brilliant White.

Local teeth whitening clinic Brilliant White are working with Rokfolio to offer one third off the price of a teeth whitening treatment for every client booking a Rokfolio shoot.

The team are also working alongside local business Encanto Hair Salon on Thomas Street who style the client’s hair to complete their ‘look’ for their photo shoot.

Event planner Rachel said, “We want to work together with local businesses. It is so important in the current economic climate to work together and support other businesses here in our own town. Small businesses like ourselves face a wide range of challenges on a daily basis, so it is vital that we work together and support each other however we can.”
