AFTER 50 years at the keyboard of Tullyroan Methodist Church, between Portadown and Moy, organist May Telford has decided to retire.

Mrs Telford (nee McCall) has a long and loyal association with the church, her parents and grandparents having been members over the years. She has decided to retire for health reasons.

In recognition for her half-century of service, the members of the church decided to present her with a painting of the former church, which has been replaced by services in the church hall.

Unfortunately, May was unable to attend the presentation and the gift was received by her daughter Alice Hayes on her behalf.

It was handed over by society steward Desmond Greenaway, and the Rev Robert Birnie of the Cranagill/Charlemont Circuit also attended the event.

Mr Birnie said, “We really appreciate May’s long, faithful service for Tullyroan.

“Her talents and her dedication are a wonderful example to everyone.”
