Olympic Torch in town later today!

Portadown prepares for the arrival of the Olympic torch later today.

PREPARATIONS are well under way in Portadown town centre ahead of the Olympic Torch arrival later this afternoon.

The torch, carried by bearers from various parts of Northern Ireland, is scheduled to arrive on the Armagh Road at 4.39pm before travelling to Church Street, High Street, the Bann Bridge, Carrickblacker Road and Gilford Road.

Free events are also taking place in the town centre, Brownstown Park, People’s Park, Bann Boulevard and Edenvilla Park.
