NORTHERN Ireland’s ‘Dr Dolittle’ (aka Hamiltonsbawn man Phil Brown) will be the subject of the last in the enthralling series ‘The Farm Fixer’ on Monday night.

Phil - who runs an unusual farm for pint-sized animals at his 17-acre spread in Newtownhamilton will receive “the treatment” from the inscrutable Nick Hewer, right-hand man of Sir Alan Sugar (The Apprentice) and scourge of the aspiring young lions who dare to enter the Sugar boardroom.

The BBC Northern Ireland show will be screened at 10.35pm on Monday when Phil will finally learn what Mr Hewer thinks of his project which includes an array of little animals like pigmy goats, miniature ponies, micro pigs, lamas, alpacas and a baby kangaroo.

He wants to use his 17-acre site to develop a mobile petting farm. He has a great gift with animals but he needs to take this ability and make it into a viable business. Nick has ambitious plans for Phil, incorporating re-branding, franchising and expansion. The question is will he be able to convince Phil to think big.

Philip said: “When I heard the programme was being made and they were looking for people to take part I initially thought there was not a chance it was going to happen and that I would be chosen. It was my mother who filled in the form and sent it off and that was really how the whole thing sparked from there.”,

Of his time working with Nick over the course of six months, Philip added: “He (Nick) did give me a lot of valuable information. He opened up new avenues for me and showed me how not to be channelled into one thing. Nick gave me a different outlook on my business.”

But he won’t be given Nick’s full opinion until he views Monday night’s show - and he’s a bit apprehensive about it all.
