Ploughing match postponed

FOR one of the few times in its 99-year history, Mullahead Ploughing match, due to be held next Saturday, has been postponed.

Chairman Kenny Gracey said the unprecedented wet weather had forced the decision.

He said, “We are trying to sort out a new date but it is proving problematic as other matches have already been organised.

“We have always been very fortunate with the weather, especially in the past 15 years since we started the Ulster Horse Ploughing Championships, but the ground this year is unbelievably wet.”
