SEAGOE Mothers’ Union is 30 years ahead of the Queen!

With QEII celebrating her Diamond Jubilee this year, the Seagoe have gone 50 per cent better by marking their 90th year.

And the two have been intertwined by the MU of St Gobhan’s writing to Her Majesty to congratulate her for being 60 years on the Throne, and received a grateful reply.

Branch leader Mrs Winnie McLoughlin said, “Buckingham Palace sent us a beautiful card depicting the various stages of her reign, and we’re delighted, especially as the card wished us all the best for our big year.”

There will be special celebrations on Sunday next, October 7, starting in the Parish Centre with a tea party at 3.30pm, which will be followed in the parish church at 7pm with a service of thanksgiving.

Lady Christine Eames will be the special guest, and members past and present - as well as families with connections to Seagoe - will be made most welcome at both events.

“We are really looking forward to meeting friends old and new,” said Mrs McLoughlin.
