PORTADOWN and its outlying areas might have escaped the worst of the snow that hit Northern Ireland last month, but the town awoke to a winter wonderland on Tuesday morning.

Heavy snow on Monday night and overnight left a beautiful scene but many roads, particularly in country areas, were difficult to pass.

There were reports of long delays on the roads with buses in many places running late.

Send us your snow pictures to pictures@portadowntimes.co.uk

In the meantime admire pictures taken by photographer Tony Hendron this morning.
