When police went to an address in Lurgan an 18-year-old woman lunged at an officer with a piece of glass, Craigavon Magistrates Court heard last Friday.

Seaneen Mulvenna, Dingwell Park, Lurgan, admitted assaulting an officer and attempted criminal damage to a police vehicle on January 14 this year.

The court heard that at 11pm police went to Dingwell Park and loud music was coming from the premises.

They were confronted by a male who denied them entry and then the defendant directed profanities at police.

She was heavily intoxicated, almost completely incoherent and the male told her to stand behind the door so she would get a claim.

Mulvenna had a piece of glass in her hand and she lunged towards a constable.

CS spray had to be used and she made her way into the bathroom where she was found in the bath tub.

The defendant continued to shout abuse and had to be handcuffed and placed in the rear of a police vehicle.

She began to violently kick the back of the passenger seat in front of her while continuing with a foulmouthed diatribe.

District Judge, Mr Mervyn Bates, said it was very concerning that Mulvenna lunged at an officer with a piece of glass.

He adjourned sentencing until March 18 so that a pre-sentence report could be obtained.

The judge remanded her on her own bail of £200 with the condition she should not be in a public place with alcohol consumed.
