A Portadown man who bought a stolen phone and sold it on for a profit was jailed last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court.
Jason Morrison (26), Swallowfield, appeared on videolink from Maghaberry prison.
He admitted handling stolen goods, an iPhone 5C, on May 1 last year and was sentenced to four months in custody.
The court heard that a young girl bought the phone from the defendant and believed it had been stolen.
It belonged to another female whose father set up the contract for the phone which cost £600. The phone has not been returned.
When interviewed Morrison said he met someone he knew at the train station. He arranged to buy the phone but denied any knowledge it had been stolen.
A defence barrister said Morrison had been convicted of the offence after a contested hearing. He added that Morrison said he made a small profit of £60.
The defendant was currently serving a prison term and the four-month sentence is to run concurrently.
