Driving his wife’s car without having insurance led to a 34-year-old man being banned from driving for six months last Friday at Craigavon Court.

Tomas Norusas, Park Road, Portadown, was also fined £250 for driving without insurance and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy. For no driving licence he was fined £100.

The court heard the offences came to light when he was stopped just before 3pm on January 23 this year at Castle Street, Portadown.

Mr Joe McDonald, representing the defendant, said the car belonged to the wife of the defendant. He had a message to do in town and foolishly took the vehicle.
