A Portadown man was £7,000 for waste offences on Tuesday at Craigavon Court.

Seamus Toye (72) from Milltown Lane, The Birches, pleaded guilty to four offences in relation to his unauthorised End of Life Vehicle and scrap metal site.

On March 11 2014, Environment Agency officers visited the site, where they found large amounts of scrap engines, vehicle parts, scrap metal, and waste tyres.

On December 8 2014, at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court, Mr Toye was given until Tuesday to clear his site of all waste. Waste was found on site during two subsequent visits by NIEA officers.
