A Portadown man who fired marbles from a catapult into a yard at Tesco claimed he was trying to hit beer cans and pigeons.
Stephen Martin (45), Hanover Street admitted two charges last Wednesday at Craigavon Court.
He admitted attempting to damage property on July 3 this year and possession of an offensive weapon, a catapult.
The court heard that at approximately 3.30pm two men used catapults to fire marbles into a service area at Tesco in Meadow Lane. There were members of staff and lorries in the yard.
The catapults were located in a rucksack of a companion of the defendant. Martin said he was only trying to hit beer cans and pigeons.
The District Judge said it was a strange incident and told Martin he would adjourn for a pre-sentence report.
Martin was remanded on his own bail to appear again on September 3. He is not allowed to enter Portadown Tesco.
