A Ballyhegan man will appear at Newry Crown Court next month accused of sex offences dating back more than 30 years.
Martin John Hughes (64), of Annahugh Park, faces five charges of gross indecency with or towards a child, seven counts of indecent assault on a male and one count of attempted buggery of a boy under 16.
The charges relate to alleged incidents between January 1983 and January 1988.
Hughes, who appeared at Armagh Magistrates Court last Tuesday, was asked if he wished to say anything in relation to the charges, to which he replied “No”.
District Judge Paul Copeland said he was satisfied Hughes had a prima facie case to answer, and released him on his own bail of £750.
