Man sent for trial on assault charge

A Lurgan man has been returned for trial to Craigavon Crown Court on a serious assault charge.

Fifty-five-year-old Daniel McCavigan, whose address was given as Manor Park, Lurgan, appeared last Friday at a preliminary enquiry in Craigavon courthouse.

The charge against him alleges that on December 16, 2013, he unlawfully and maliciously inflicted grievous bodily harm on a man.

He was remanded on his own bail of £500 to appear for arraignment at Craigavon Crown Court sitting on April 26.
