A masked man, who claimed he had a weapon, robbed a service station on the Dobbin Road, Portadown last night.

The incident occurred shortly before 9pm when the man entered the shop and demanded money. He brandished a bag suggesting it contained a weapon.

A sum of money was handed over and the man fled.

Detective Constable Paul Murphy said, “The robber is described as in his 30s, 5’ 10” tall, slim build with dark hair. He was wearing a dark baseball cap, black fleece, dark blue jeans and dark gloves.

“I am appealing for anyone with information or who may have seen this man in the area last night to get in touch with detectives by calling the non-emergency number 101.”

Police are also appealing to a female jogger who passed by the forecourt of the service station just minutes before the robbery. She was running from the Portadown direction towards Armagh and it is possible she may have seen something that could assist the investigation.

Information can be passed to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
