MOY Park has smashed its fundraising target for corporate charity partner, Macmillan Cancer Support.
Northern Ireland’s largest food company doubled its target of £20,000 to raise a staggering £40,000 over the past two years.
The Moy Park team has spent the past two years working together to find new and exciting ways to raise much-needed funds for Macmillan, from organising family fun days and coffee mornings to scaling some of the highest peaks across Europe and running marathons.
Nigel Dunlop, Moy Park’s managing director, said, “In 2011 Moy Park pledged its corporate commitment to Macmillan Cancer Support and we’re overwhelmed by the incredible support and generosity we have received from our employees and friends.
“The team has taken on incredible challenges and gone to great efforts to not only raise the profile of the valuable work carried out by Macmillan but to help beat our fundraising target by over £20,000. We cannot believe that we have been able to double our donation to an amazing £40,000 and we hope that this will go a long way to help those at Macmillan and the fantastic work they do.”
Joanne Young, fundraising manager for Macmillan Cancer Support, said, “It is unbelievable how much the staff have raised and how all of the staff got involved in different activities on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support.
“It has been an absolute pleasure working with the team and raising such an unprecedented amount of funds. This money will allow a Macmillan Nurse to work with over 130 people living with cancer. We are truly grateful to Moy Park for their support over the last two years and hope that we will work together again in the future.”
