Following the recent success of Annie the Musical in Lurgan Town Hall and just last weekend The Little Mermaid in Portadown Town Hall, Moyraverty Arts and Drama Society has open its doors again for new junior members to come along and join the drama society.
Niall Devlin, MADS secretary, said: “We welcome new members and returning old members from anywhere of any colour and religion. We are a fully inclusive drama society.
“Most of our leaders have been fully vettede and have attended child protection courses, first aid courses, alcohol and drug awareness programmes and social networking and bullying programmes. These courses are ongoing. Anyone in primary 6 to year 11 in secondary school can come along and join our junior section this Saturday, February 21 or Saturday, February 28.
“We are located at the Moyraverty centre which is beside St Brendan’s Primary School. The times for junior drama is as follows: registration at 11am to 11.15am and drama from 11.15am to 1.15pm.
“We have just finiished the first two shows of the year for this particular age group and have big plans for them for the remaining of this year.
“The first event being a big concert with the South Ulster Community Band which will take place at the Craigavon Civic Centre on Saturday, March 21. The 40 piece band will provide the live music for this concert and also perform some tunes of their own.
“The team that produced The Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables namely Jonathan McGuinnesss, Caitriona Corr, John Mitchell, Claire McMahon and Kieran Corr will be responsible for this show. This is one of the strongest, most qualified and most professional teams that we have ever put together.”
