New rector is installed at Knocknamuckley

On June 27 at 8pm, a new Rector will be instituted at St Matthias Parish Church, Knocknamuckley.

The Reverend Geoffrey Haugh was installed at a special service by the Bishop of Down and Dromore, the Right Reverend Harold Millar.

The Reverend Haugh began his ministry in 2013 as a deacon in Ballymore Parish, Tandragee under the tuition of Reverend Canon Shane Foster.

He was then installed as curate assistant in St Philip & St James Church, Holywood in 2014 where he served alongside the Reverend Rodger Elks and since 2015 with Reverend Canon Gareth Harron.

The Reverend Haugh previously worked in agricultural sales before answering the call into church ministry.

He has successfully completed three years study in the Church of Ireland Theological College, Dublin.

The Reverend Haugh said, “I am looking forward to beginning a new chapter in my ministry journey among the people of Knocknamuckley.”

The Reverend Haugh, who is originally from the Birches area Portadown is married to Karen and they have four daughters.
