Grease is topping the poll for the first open air movie to be shown at the People’s Park.

Already hundreds of people have been voting on the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Council Facebook site as to what movie should be shown.

The People’s Park underwent a £5.5m facelift and opened last October.

Already it is proving very popular and now the state-of-the-art venue is to host its first ever outdoor cinema event.

The council have organised drive-in screenings at the Shambles Yard in Armagh.

But now it is the turn of Portadown to take centre stage.

The outdoor cinema screening is due to be held on Thursday, March 24.

And it will be up to the public to have their say on the movie shown on the night.

Four classics movies are on offer. So far, Grease is ‘the one that you want’ with more than 250 votes on the poll followed by The Goonies with 155, Jurassic Park with 38 and ET with just 29 votes.

The poll will close this Friday, March 4, at 5pm.
