A police car has been spotted parked in a disabled space in Richhill.

The vehicle, which was captured on camera by a local resident, was perched in the village’s only disabled parking space - with a blue ‘disabled’ badge nowhere to be seen.

The police car was parked just outside SuperValu on the village’s Main Street, but the PSNI were unable to give an explanation as to why the officers had seemingly abandoned the car in a space reserved for disabled drivers.

“Police vehicle exemptions for restricted parking areas are in place for officers on official police business and/or emergency calls,” said Inspector Kieran Quinn.

“If a member of the public has concerns about police vehicles in restricted parking areas, they should contact their nearest station in the first instance so that enquiries can be progressed immediately to determine the reason for the vehicle being parked in the area and the identity of the officers.”
