Portadown Neighbourhood Policing Team is urging the public to report suspicious activity at the earliest opportunity.
The reminder follows an incident in the St John’s Court area, just off the Garvaghy Road, on Thursday, April 30.
A navy coloured Audi car was observed acting suspiciously, driving round the area. This was reported to police who attended straight away.
Constable Sarah Murray said, “In this instance the car had left the area prior to our arrival. However, we have found that a police presence can act as a strong deterrent for any would-be criminals.
“I cannot stress how important it is to report any activity that looks out of place in your neighbourhood. That early phone call could make the difference between a house being burgled or burglars moving on because they see police or know that they have been noticed.”
She urged the public not to feel foolish or nervous about reporting something that may appear insignificant. Anyone who notices vehicles acting suspiciously or unusual activity in their neighbourhood should phone police on 101.
