Police in Portadown are reminding bicycle owners to secure their bikes when leaving them unattended.

The reminder follows an incident in Mandeville Street on Saturday, May 16, when a silver mountain bike was taken from outside bookmaking premises between 6.20pm and 6.30pm.

Constable Moody said, “ We would like to hear from anyone who has information in relation to the theft or whereabouts of this bicycle and we can be contacted in Portadown on 101, quoting ref: 930 160515. We would also remind bicycle owners to take steps to secure their bikes which can very often be expensive pieces of kit. Invest in a good quality bicycle lock and secure your bike whenever you leave it unattended. You should also mark your bike with your postcode so that it is easily identifiable.
