Two cases involving a Portadown jewellery business were adjourned for another month on Tuesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court.

The defendants are Richard O’Hara (35), Linvara, Tandragee, and JRN Jewellers, William Street, Portadown.

O’Hara, as a director of JRN Jewellers, faces a total of 10 charges, alleged to have happened between December 1, 2013, and November 7, 2014.

They include five charges of engaging in misleading commercial practice, three of engaging in unfair commercial practice and two charges of knowingly and recklessly engaging in a commercial practice which contravened the requirements of professional diligence.

Ten similar charges are laid against JRN Jewellers.

A barrister representing both defendants said the matter had been previously adjourned so that representations could be made to the relevant department.

This had not happened yet and he asked for one further adjournment.

Adjourning the cases until January 5 District Judge, Mr Mervyn Bates said it would be peremptory to find out the attitude of the defendants.
