Poultry firm among biggest RHI recipients

Ballindarragh Poultry Farm, on the Ballindarragh Road, had six boilers installed, after applying for them on November 2, 2014, and to date has received £432,282 in subsidies.

It is included in a list of companies across the province that signed up for the government scheme.

There is no suggestion that any of those on the list have abused the scheme.

The list, released by the Department of the Economy, includes the names of all companies that have received support payments under the scheme above a threshold of £5,000, since it opened in 2012 to February 28, 2017.

Another Markethill farm, Kilbracks Farm, on the Mowhan Road, signed up for four boilers, and has received subsidies of £191,723. They applied for them on January 12, 2015.

DRL Energy in Carleton Street, Portadown, which is listed as a manufacturer of wood and other products, had four boilers installed, and has received £198,813 to date in subsidies.

Other local companies which signed up for the RHI scheme include Dickson Poultry in Moy which installed three boilers, bringing in £71,365.

Shelbourne Motors on the Tandragee Road in Portadown installed four, and have recouped £84,815.
