Praise from College principal as A*-C grades rise

Principal of Portadown College Simon Harper has praised students, staff and parents following another year of successful A2 and AS results.

Some 31.4 per cent of all A2 grades were at A* or A with the A*-C tally showing “a very pleasing improvement”. The overall pass rate was 99.8 per cent.

Students attaining three or more A* or A grades at A2 were: Ryan Davison, Sarah Crowe, Matthew Haugh, Iris Wong, Adam Thornbury, Amber Kemp, Charlotte McClelland, Kaitlin Whyte, Toby Bonny, Sam Shepherd, Anna Acheson, Jayne Fenton, Josh Mathers, Beth Stewart, Jonathan Farrell, Tara Grant, Naomi Kilpatrick, Sarah O’Reilly, Kamile Sinicaite, James Hewitt, Nathan Leeman, Reece Somerville and Ryan Uprichard.

AS students who achieved three or more A grades were: Ivan Ribeiro, Reuben Brown, James Carrick, Claire Carswell, Rachel Griffin, Stewart Hodgen, Heather King, Hannah Meredith, Bethany Proctor, John Russell, Emma Topley, Manus Wong, Sarah Cadden, Chloe Jenkins, Gabija Kleimenovaite, Jack McMahon and Emma-Jayne Wright.

Mr Harper said, “The most important outcome is that the vast majority of our students have secured places in their chosen courses at university.”
