Residents are angry at a Lurgan Park and Ride area which has become a mecca for anti-social behaviour.

The William St car park, owned by Translink, has become a drinking den and a magnet for troublesome youths.

Lurgan Sinn Féin Councillor, Máire Cairns, has highlighted the issue of anti-social behaviour and littering in the William Street Park and Ride.

“Following complaints from businesses, residents and users of the car park, particularly parents of young children who access the day centre through the area, I visited the car park and was shocked at the level of litter,in particular the smashed glass strewn across the area.

“I have been in contact with Transport N.I and have asked for an increase to the amount of weekly clean ups they already carry out in the area, I am also exploring options with ABC council in order to help keep this area tidy and maintain its use for the local community.

“I would urge anyone who uses this car park to be mindful of their fellow users and where possible to keep it clean, tidy and safe for all.”
