Road improvement works worth £580,000 are to start in Portadown and Tandragee next week.

The investment, announced by Transport Minister Danny Kennedy, will include road and footpath resurfacing on the Madden Road and Derryhale Road.

During the Derryhale works, from tomorrow (Saturday) until Friday, March 21, a temporary road closure will be in place.

Traffic will be diverted via the Armagh Road to Mahon Road to Markethill Road.

There will also be a temporary road closure on the Madden Road from February 17 to March 28 and traffic will be diverted.

Mr Kennedy said the works will improve the structural condition of almost three miles of carriageway.
