Portadown town centre will play host to a series of Love Craigavon events over the course of Saturdays during August.

There will be a schedule of free entertainment, as well as vouchers for lots of goodies, as people shop for their summer essentials in Portadown town centre.

The Love Craigavon events, which have been organised by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, will take place on Saturdays from August 1-29 inclusive.

The schedule will include live entertainment in the form of radio road shows, great live jazz, hilarious marionette puppet shows and Swingabella with their sassy sets from the 40s and 50s.

The U105 street teams will also be on hand every Saturday from 11am-2pm in Portadown, Tannaghmore Gardens and at Oxford Island giving out vouchers to passers-by so they can avail of lots of delicious treats in local coffee shops, restaurants and at partner visitor attractions.

The Love Craigavon schedule will officially kick off on Saturday with entertainment running from 11am-2pm. Portadown will light up with a U105 roadshow with guest presenter, Paul McKenna. For the kids there will face painting and brilliant balloon modelling.

Lord Mayor Councillor Darryn Causby said, “I’m delighted to announce this jam-packed schedule of events and promotions for Craigavon this summer and look forward to welcoming visitors and locals alike to enjoy the fun-filled entertainment each week. Craigavon has a great selection of shops and tourist attractions and with the variety of events on offer, visitors are in for an extra special treat!”
