A 28-year-old man was banned from driving for six months last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for motoring offences.

Samuel Herron, Westland Road, Portadown, appeared in court by way of videolink from Maghaberry Prison.

For permitting someone to drive without insurance on April 20 this year he was fined £300, and banned for six months.

He was also fined £100 and banned for three months for permitting the same person to drive without a licence.

The court heard that another man was driving the defendant’s vehicle at Lakeview Court in Craigavon.

A defence barrister said he was already banned from driving. He added that his client would be in custody until the end of December.
