After an argument with his girlfriend a man stormed out of the house and decided to drive home.
But police had been informed he had drink taken and they caught up with him at his home.
Michael Redmond Doran (23), of Wellington Street, Lurgan, was fined £150 last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for driving with excess alcohol in his breath on August 9 this year. He was also banned for 12 months - on completion of a course for drink driving the ban would be reduced to nine months.
The court heard that at 2am police responded to an incident and they spoke to the injured party who had made the call. Doran was stopped in Wellington Street and failed a breath test. An evidential test gave a reading of 58.
Mr Pat Vernon, defending, said Doran had been in his girlfriend’s home and had been drinking with no intention of driving. They had an argument and Doran stormed out.
