Police want to speak to a man who approached a teenage girl in the Drumbeg area of Lurgan yesterday.

The man was seen along the black paths in the Drumbeg/Lismore Manor area yesterday at around 3.15pm.

Police said he was wearing a navy zip up jacket, light grey workman style trousers and a black baseball cap.

“He may have spoken to a young female during this time. If that was you, please call us on 101 quoting incident number 297 of 13/01/16.

“Parents and kids alike are reminded of the importance of remembering “stranger danger”. Don’t stop to talk to strangers in isolated areas, and if you aren’t happy with what a stranger says or does, contact us immediately.”

Meanwhile a warning went out on Facebook last night to the Meadowbrook community.

The message stated that a young girl was approached on the black paths past Brownlow School.

“A man tried calling me into Rathmore saying that he wasn’t going to hurt me and that he wanted me to come with him,”

Parents were warned to be careful of their children walking home from school.
