It took four police officers to restrain a 38-year-old Portadown man, Craigavon Magistrates Court heard last Friday.

Tom Mongan, Parkside, Portadown, admitted disorderly behaviour, resisting a constable and obstructing a constable on July 5 this year.

The court heard that in Obins Street he made a hand gesture towards police and when spoken to he became abusive and aggressive.

When he was informed he was going to be arrested he continued to be abusive and it took four police officers to restrain him.

District Judge, Mr Mervyn Bates, adjourned sentencing for a pre-sentence report.
