A second man has been arrested after the discovery of a cannabis factory in Portadown today.

Police say a second man, aged 34, has been arrested by detectives from Organised Crime Branch.

A 48-year-old man arrested earlier remains in police custody.

Police officers carried out a series of searches in Portadown on Tuesday.

In a statement, they revealed that searches were carried out at properties in Jervis Street, Mahon Close, Selshion Parade and Fitzroy Street under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

The police said, “A cannabis factory was discovered in a house on Selshion Parade and a man was arrested for possession of Class B, possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply and cultivation of cannabis. He is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
